Сабж когда то был мне интересен, в те времена вроде сам Питт хотел играть гг, но с тех пор прошло лет 10 и с Ханнменом/ Паттинсоном не надо. У Парамаунтов ясное дело все очень плохо, еще один даже минимально потенциальный фейл им просто не нужен.

У Грея вроде бы все предыдущие фильмы прокатывала компания братьев Вайнштейнов. У них сейчас фин. проблемы и им ясное дело не нужен такой мертвый груз. У него же вроде даже на окупаемость ни разу не получилось выйти за всю карьеру, не говоря уже о какой-то прибыли.

Что до обсуждаемого фильма, то будет действительно жаль, если он не найдет своего зрителя. Чего бы там не наснимал Грэй, а я уверена что не хуже прочих, история сама по себе невероятно интересная, причем о реальных людях, а не о нарисованных супергероях с суперсилами, гаджетами и смехотворными порой, надуманными драмами.

As a filmmaker, James Gray (“The Immigrant”) has become such a critical darling that there’s now almost a cult of support for his work, and “The Lost City of Z” is destined to be hailed as another prestige addition to the Gray canon. Yet its popularity with audiences may prove more limited. The film is infused with Gray’s meticulous gravity, yet it also has his recessiveness — that feeling he can give you that you’re watching the action under glass.

Pattinson continues his streak of duteous supporting roles in auteurist pictures. While the always underrated Sienna Miller gets one scene that attempts to subvert the commonplace thankless wife role, appearing strong and willful, the part is still rather underwhelming and unfortunately underwritten (the film has a male POV to be sure).

Equally enjoyable is Sienna Miller, who lends depth to her thankless role as Percy’s patient wife, an intelligent and capable woman casually raising an entire family while her husband vanishes for years on end. The strongest scene in the film, in fact, is the argument between Percy and Nina as the latter demands to be taken on his next expedition. That little comes of the argument itself is more of a failing of the film than of the characters.

Отрадно, что первый амбициозный проект у Чарли получился добротным. Хотя были опасения и много и по разным причинам. И судя по отзывам, актеров к которым я не расположена в кадре по минимуму .

 

Процент на томатах скорее всего упадет, но задел очень хороший.

На Оскары значит претендовать не сможет. С сюжетом и актёрами тоже всё понятно. А вот как там дела с людоедством и проблемами с местной фауной - анаконды кайманы в наличии? Из рецензий что-то ничего толком не усматривается.

Про лагерь людоедов упоминание где-то было. Про съемки прямо в реке с крокодилами тоже. В остальном, как написано, у кого-нибудь вроде Кроненберга получилось бы другое кино:
